About Me

Dear Me,

Wow, ok, so I guess I'm on a roll.  Better take advantage of it before procrastination sets in and I decide to do it later.

So about me.

I'm an aspiring writer, which means, as mentioned before I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.  I've been told I have some talent (very, very, very raw talent) but it could work out into something that might see the light of day.  It might not.  I don't know.

In my wildest dreams I would see success like J.K. Rowling or Diana Gabaldon (yep realize they are two very two writer's from two very different genres but they're both super successful and that's what I want).  The possibilities of this happening are about the same as winning the lottery, but a girl can dream can't she?

But since I'm also a cynical realist who only gets lucky when she absolutly needs it (I'll get to that later) the most I can expect is that if what I write sees the light of day, it'll be a single copy on a bookshelf on the romance section (though when Diana Gabaldon started out, Outlander was in the romance section too).

So, back to the whole lucky when I need to be.  I have Cystic Fibrosis.  When I was twenty-three I got a double lung transplant.  Usually, a person would have to wait for two years or more before getting their transplant.  I waited for six months.  It's been almost thirteen years since my transplant and I'm doing alright, though I'm only have about fifty percent of my lung function left.  In that time, I worked for a lot of it but made the decision to quit after I reached fifty percent lung capacity.  I knew I had to make the decision to either:

a) continue working and drive myself into an early grave

                                     or
b) try to say as healthy as possible, save some money and do the things I always wanted to do.

You can guess which one I chose.

I went to the U.K. and part of France last spring, something I've wanted to do since I was thirteen.

I've been working on my writing, and pray often that I'll get published and be successful.

I have a million other things I want to do but those two were the big ones.

I'm engaged to be married, another dream that has come true.

What else?

Oh!  I'm addicted to Starbucks.  Their Very Berry Refresher is faboo and their Asiago and Cheddar pretzel delicious .  And no, I don't do the stereotypical writer thing and write there.  I have trouble focusing at home, can you imagine what it would be like at a place where people are coming in and out constantly?

I love reading about the paranormal and watching shows like Ghost Adventures and the Dead Files.  I love reading the stories behind that could have caused the haunting.  I'm not sure I believe in ghosts since nothing has happened to me, but it's certainly fun to hear about it!

I also love English history, Shakespeare and my favourite place in the world is Scotland.

Aaand that's me!

Cheers
